  • Refugee Sponsorship
    • First Mennonite Church has sponsored refugee families in the past, and is in the process of sponsoring a new family.
  • First Mennonite Quilting Plus Group
    • Every year this group provides over 100 comforters to Mennonite Central Committee for distribution around the world.
  • South Sudanese Church
    • First Mennonite Church assisted in the establishment of the Edmonton South Sudanese Mennonite Church and offers support to their congregation throughout the year.
  • Glenrose Worship Service
    • Our church provides a worship service at this rehabilitation facility on the third Sunday of each month.
  • Prison Visitation
    • Volunteers visit prisoners at the Edmonton Institution for Women. The purpose is to form friendships with those who have none.
  • Mennonite Church Alberta Bridge Building
    • Through our Mennonite Church Alberta ministries, we are invited to live into the intersectional experiences of harm and marginalization experienced by our Indigenous neighbours, our neighbours of minority cultural and faith traditions, and of our shared Creation.  Let us learn together to “reconcile all things.” (Colossians 1:20)

  • Edmonton Newcomer Centre
    • Seeks to support newcomers in becoming citizens in Edmonton by providing programs and services in the areas of integration & settlement, language training, and employment training/bridging. The Edmonton Mennonite churches founded ENC and continue to be involved in the Agency.
  • MCC Thrift Store
    • Used clothing and goods are received and sold to help support the work of Mennonite Central Committee.
  • Village Goods Edmonton
    • A retail outlet for fairly traded crafts and selected food items produced in developing countries, largely staffed by volunteers.
  • Habitat for Humanity
    • Interfaith group committed to providing affordable housing to persons on low income.
  • Mustard Seed Church
    • Following Jesus Christ and partnering with the community, The Mustard Seed combats the root causes of poverty in Edmonton and works to create positive, lasting change in the lives of those we serve. First Mennonite Church annually provides a meal at the Mustard Seed Church for the homeless.
  • Mennonite Disaster Service
    • Mennonite Disaster Service is a volunteer network of Anabaptist churches that responds in Christian love to those affected by disasters in Canada and the United States. While the main focus is on clean up, repair, and rebuilding homes, this service touches lives and nurtures hope, faith, and wholeness.
  • Association of Canadian Peacemakers International
    • CPI collaborates with marginalized communities in Central America, contributing resources, knowledge, and support to their pursuit of positive change through programs of education, agriculture and food security, land ownership, and leadership development.
  • Interfaith Housing Initiative
    • The initiative brings together religious and spiritual communities to end homelessness in the Edmonton area.
  • Mennonite Mutual Insurance
    • Provides mutual aid by meeting the property and casualty insurance needs of the Mennonite community and those of like faith in Alberta, thereby supporting and strengthening the church.

    • Helps individuals and families across Canada achieve their generosity goals during their lifetime and through their estate, by connecting their finances and values with their passion for the charities they care about.
