SCC Family Events

• Creating a sense of "family" is an essential part of our program. Two-way communication between staff and parents ensures that children's needs will be met. The daycare doesn't replace the family, it is an extension of the family and respectful of what that means.
• We distribute monthly newsletters with information on upcoming events, menu updates and current programming.
• We have monthly Family Breakfasts (e.g. croissants, muffins, cinnamon buns with coffee, tea and juice). Siblings are invited to come as well.
• Our annual Thanksgiving dinner happens the Thursday before Thanksgiving for all our families.
• The Christmas Extravaganza, including concert and dinner, happens the second Wednesday of December.
• In summer, the Family Breakfasts are replaced with Family Hotdog Roasts (June, July and August).
• We encourage families to share their cultural customs and celebrations with the staff for incorporation into the program. On occasion, parents are invited to share with the children  their occupations or interests, which enhance the program.
