SCC has established a set of guidelines to meet government regulations, which will enable staff to ensure the health and safety of the children. SCC staff will be familiar with and practice Universal Precautions, which include regular and proper hand washing as recommended by health professionals.
  • Every staff member will have a valid first aid certificate and will use this knowledge when first aid is required.
  • SCC provides each child with a toothbrush for the tooth brushing program after lunch. The centre labels these brushes and disinfects them weekly.
  • Cots are disinfected weekly, blankets are sent home for laundering on Friday and must be returned the following Monday.
  • The Public Health nurse makes regular visits to the centre and is available for consultation.
